Help Me Land This Partnership

Hi guys,

My apologies on the lack of posts recently. I have been preoccupied with homework and exams from school. Nevertheless, today I want to ask you guys for a favor. One of Tripadvisor’s partners MyHotelZone is giving new bloggers the chance to become an officially affiliated partner with them. However, there are limited spots for this partnership. The way they are doing this is by tracking how many bookings new bloggers have under their belts, the top bloggers with the most bookings will get the chance to become their partners. This doesn’t cost you anything extra, therefore, do you see the banner on the right side of this blog? For the upcoming Thanksgiving and Winter travel, book your accommodation with MyHotelZone by clicking that banner! Thank you for your help, and I promise around February if I score the deal and become one of their standard partners I’ll do a big giveaway!

Series on Chicago Neighborhoods

Chicago’s modern city skyline of iconic skyscrapers and tree-lined waterfront evolved from a long history of architectural firsts, forward-thinking city planners, and a concerted effort to merge metropolitan life with the natural beauty of the land. Due to the fire in 1871 that destroyed a third of the city, the legend has it that Mrs. O’Leary’s cow was the one who kicked over a lantern and started a blaze that resulted in this mass destruction, city planners and architects were able to plan out a grid like layout and tremendous amount of lakefront parkland.

Chicago is a truly different city from all the other ones. Why? Because Chicago is made up of over 200 truly distinctive neighborhoods each holds its unique identity that adjust with changing times. It is also the results of these diverse, multicultural neighborhoods that Chicago is considered to be a truly American city, because each neighborhood while influenced by strong cultural ties, also maintained traditional American values.

Since I live in Chicago for now, I decided to use my time wisely to explore different neighborhoods and create a new series for my blog that will introduce difference community from time to time. Stay tuned if you would like to explore these neighborhoods with me!             Your boy,                                                                                                                                                           -Chuck

One Month Anniversary

Hello my dear fellow readers,

I can’t believe today marks the one-month anniversary of this blog. I didn’t know I would go this far for blogging. If you haven’t checked the “About” page yet, I started this blog one day casually after I went to Paris by myself. The trip was my first time abroad alone, and what made the trip more significant to me was that I paid the trip (Airfare, accommodation, etc) by myself through the money I made at a summer job, not relying on my parents. As a 19 years old, I feel an event like this one symbolizes my entrance into the adulthood, that I am responsible and can take care of myself. Traveling by myself in an unfamiliar city and merely speak the language definitely enabled me to learn and grow a lot as a person. Thanks for reading my blog so far and the continued support, I really appreciate it, even if it’s only one visitor that read my blog, at least I got you.

As for the future, I hope to travel even more often so I will have more personal experience like the ones in Paris and London that I can write about. Also discover more tips on saving money for travel and traveling money-saving tips. Right now as of timewise and fund-wise because I’m still in college so my ability to travel is limited. I’m also going to take what I have learned from the past month’s blogging experience and apply it on my future posts so they are going to be better and more interesting. P.S: there will be surprise contributors in the future!
